The Deputy Minister of Tourism and Trade, Jakes Aguirrezabal Iribar, the Director of Trade, Izaskun Gómez Cermeño, and the Dean of the Business Faculty of Mondragon Unibertsitatea, Lander Beloki, kicked off the 2nd edition of the MARKET BERRI Program this Thursday at the Oñati campus, aimed at boosting the competitiveness and projection of Basque businesses.

During the event, the panorama of the commercial sector has been addressed in a round table with traders, moderated by the Director of Commerce of the Basque Government, with the participation of Anne del Moral, from DUARA, Sonia Lopez from FLORISTERIA ARANTZA and Leire Iparragirre from LEIREIPAR.

In this second edition of the project for Commercial Innovation and Entrepreneurship in the Basque Country, the nine selected projects of this year presented by students of 1st, 2nd and 3rd year of the LEINN Degree (Entrepreneurial Leadership and Innovation) of the laboratories of Oñati, Irun and Bilbao have been announced.

These projects have been selected by traders and agents of the sector from among almost twenty proposals submitted. All of them reflect a variety of innovative approaches to trade and seek to respond to the real challenges facing the sector such as the closure of stores, empty premises or towns with little commercial activity, among others. In short, these are transformative projects.

This event not only highlighted the creativity and innovation of young entrepreneurs, but also reaffirmed the importance of commerce in the transformation of today's society and the need to adapt to new market realities.
