As a result of the declarations of a state of alarm and health emergency by the State Government and the Basque Government and the order to suspend teaching activities in person, Mondragon University is developing all its teaching activities online. After the first three weeks of online teaching and evaluation, the assessment is satisfactory.

In the coming weeks, the state of health emergency declared by the Basque Government could be ended, but it is likely that measures will be maintained that initially will not allow classes to be given and face-to-face assessments to be carried out.

In view of this, and with the aim of transmitting a message of peace of mind to our students, and to eliminate the current situation of uncertainty, yesterday afternoon a meeting was held between the rectors of the Basque University System and the Regional Minister of Education, Cristina Uriarte, in which the situation was analysed, and following the agreement reached this morning between the members of the Basque University System and the Department of Education, Mondragon University has decided to finish all the official university education classes for the degree and master's degrees remaining from the 2019-2020 academic year, including the various evaluations, in the online mode and respecting the scheduled end dates of the course.

As soon as the health and work situation allows it, students will be reincorporated into the collaborating entities and, in each case, the way to complete the internships, dual training, end of degree work (TFG), end of master work (TFM), etc. for the 2019-2020 academic year will be determined, including the appropriate adaptations that are necessary for their correct completion.

In this new context, now more than ever, Mondragon University is reaffirming its model of person-centred learning based on continuous assessment, through the performance and evaluation (now online) of exercises, projects, group work, individual work, etc., and other assessment tests consistent with our learning model.

The rest of Mondragon University's activities that are currently carried out online, such as training for professionals, research or transfer, will be incorporated into its face-to-face development as far as the health situation allows.
