Collaborations and adaptations during the Coronavirus era
In these times in which the Coronavirus has confined us to our homes, in Mondragon University we have had to adapt to the situation in order to continue with our activity. At the same time, this situation is forcing us to reinvent ourselves.
On the other hand, this crisis that we are experiencing is bringing out the best in all of us and is leading us to collaborate and cooperate with both society and institutions.
Below you can see what we are doing.

On 1 July, the students of the Higher Polytechnic School presented the different Master’s and thesis projects carried out in collaboration with Ingeteam during the academic year 2019/2020. Due to the known circumstances, a virtual meeting was organised, with the participation of the leading students, 10 teachers from the Higher Polytechnic School and approximately 40 professionals from Ingeteam, who connected electronically from their head offices in Zamudio, Iruñea and Beasain or from their addresses. The purpose of the conference was to disseminate the work carried out by the students during the course to the company staff and contrast their ideas and results. To do this, each project had 25 minutes of exposure and a space for debate. Progress was made on converters in the field of traction, applied developments in power electronics, modelling of offshore parks, and calculation tools for investors.
Close collaboration
The Higher Polytechnic School has a long-term collaborative research agreement with Ingeteam, a leading Basque company specialising in electrical engineering and in the development of electrical equipment, motors, generators, converters, and control. The framework also contemplates a collaborative work space called Aula Ingeteam located on the Arrasate campus where students, doctoral students and researchers develop new solutions on strategic topics for the company. The collaboration with Ingeteam is part of the close relationship maintained by Mondragon Unibertsitatea with Basque companies and reaffirms it as a companion for them in such a key sector for the Basque Country as that of energy.
