Acces and admission

For those degrees in which the number of places requested exceeds the number of places available, and depending on the profile for admittance, the following places will be reserved:

  • For those with a degree who have passed the entrance exam (and as long as they have not already commenced university studies): 60% of the appropriate degree places.
  • For those with a higher technical degree or higher technical Sports degree: 30% of the appropriate degree places.
  • For all other groups: 10% of the appropriate degree places, distributed as follows:
    • Those over 25 years old entering via the entrance exam: 2%.
    • Those over 45 years old entering via the entrance exam: 1%.
    • Those who have a recognised degree of disability equal to or higher than 33%: 3%.
    • High-level athletes and high-performance sportspeople: 1%.
    • Students with an official university degree or who have begun university studies: 3%.

Criteria for calculation of the entrance mark

Those who have obtained the Baccalaureat/Bachillerato or equivalent and have passed the university entrance exam (and have not commenced university studies)

  • The entrance mark will be calculated as follows: 60% of the average Bachillerato/Baccalaureat grade + 40% of the general part of the entrance exam + (a x 0.2) + (b x 0.2). (a and b: the marks of the best two subjects passed in the specific part of the entrance exam).
  • In the case of those who have passed the entrance exam prior to the year 2010 and decide to do the specific phase, the entrance mark will be calculated as follows: Final entrance mark (2010 or previous courses) + (a x 0.2) + (b x 0.2).
  • For the calculation of the entrance mark, Faculty of Humanities and Education apply a weighting of 0.2 in the following Bachillerato/Baccalaureat subjects passed in the specific phase, as detailed below:

Those with a higher technical sports degree, according to the average mark in the Academic Record

Preference will be given to those with a vocational training qualification linked to the areas of knowledge of the degree applied for.

According to article 7 of Royal Decree 558/2010 dated 7 May, for admission to the official university degree education in which the number of applications exceeds the places available, students with Vocational Training may undergo the specific phase in order to improve the entrance mark. In these cases the entrance mark shall be calculated according to the following formula:

Entrance mark = NMC + a* M1 + b* M2 * *

    • NMC = Average training cycle mark.
    • M1, M2 = the best two marks of the specific phase of the entrance exam.
    • a, b = Weightings of the specific phase subjects.

Those over 25 years old entering via the entrance exam

  • According to the entrance exam mark.

Those over 45 years old entering via the entrance exam

  • According to the entrance exam mark.

Those with an official university degree or those who have begun university studies

  • According to the average mark in the Academic Record.
