Teaching-learning process
Real-world project-based learning for energy engineering
Energy engineering professionals must have the knowledge and skills necessary to meet the energy needs of companies and society, both now and in the future. For this reason you will be trained in a range of technologies: electrical energy, thermal energy, energy efficiency, electronics, sustainability, etc. You will be prepared to be able to solve problems related to the generation, transformation, storage and consumption of energy.
Your learning will be based on the PBL model, a unique system that will allow you to learn as if you were working. The teaching staff will propose real-world challenges from leading companies in the sector such as:
- The prototype of a hydroelectric power plant.
- Simulation of a wind farm.
- The creation of a self-sustaining system to supply energy to a mountain cabin.
- The design and manufacture of a solar thermal panel.
- Portable wind turbine for charging mobile phones and other electronic devices.
After acquiring the necessary theoretical knowledge, you will have to find the right solution to each challenge. This starts with setting up an interdisciplinary working team and dividing up the tasks to search for information. From time to time, you will have to meet to analyse what you have learnt, reflect, compare with experts and experiment and discuss/draw conclusions. You will gradually delve deeper into the solution to the project, until you can produce a prototype and present your conclusions.
Advantages of project-based learning
BE RESPONSIBLE FOR YOUR LEARNING
You will learn how to search for the necessary information, summarise it and assimilate the necessary data to increase your knowledge.
100% REAL PROJECTS
You will learn about the reality of your future profession and you will work hand in hand with companies from different sectors.
Project Manager
Throughout the Degree you will be assisted by a professional who will help you to meet the challenge or solve the problem.
WE GET RESULTS
You will acquire the highest level of knowledge, but we also want you to know how to apply it to real projects.
