DBZ will assist Alfa Hogar to explore new business model opportunities in the field of circular fashion through human-centred design
After more than 100 years in the world of sewing, Alfa kicks off BIRJOSI project to design new collaborative business models that enable more sustainable fashion consumption. The company will be assisted by the Design Innovation Centre (DBZ) of Mondragon Unibertsitatea in the application of human-centred design. The project is supported by the "Programme to promote sustainable and fair ecological transition in the business fabric and the socio-economic ecosystem in Gipuzkoa" of the Department of Economic Promotion and Strategic Projects of the Provincial Council of Gipuzkoa.
The BIRJOSI project aims to explore and develop opportunities to generate new circular business models related to the repair, reuse and life extension of clothing. The tasks will be carried out following a human-centred design methodology, a creative and participatory approach to complex problems solving that has been used successfully before by other organizations to drive sustainability and circularity.
BIRJOSI seeks to build success stories in the field of the circular economy that will encourage other companies in Gipuzkoa to implement similar collaborative initiatives. Therefore, the results of the project will be disseminated to the social and business fabric of the territory through the social networks of the organisations participating in the project.
