The paper that analyses the changes that occur in electroencephalograms between young and old patients has been published in a Q2 journal.
A group of students of the Master’s Degree in Biomedical Technologies of the Higher Polytechnic School has published an article in the scientific journal Entropy. The article entitled Aging Modulates the Resting Brain after a Memory Task: A Validation Study from Multivariate Models was prepared by the group consisting of Garazi Artola, Erik Isusquiza, Ane Errarte, Maitane Barrenechea, Ane Alberdi, María Hernández-Lorca and Elena Solesio-Jofrek and analyses the changes that occur in encephalograms (EEG) between young and old people. The journal is classified at the Q2 level, being surpassed only by the Q1 level in terms of scientific journals. It can be said, thus, that the work carried out by this group of students has been very well evaluated.
The group of students who currently attend the second year of the Master’s Degree in Biomedical Technologies emphasises that their goal is to direct their future professional careers towards the field of research. In this sense, this publication has an important impact on their curriculum vitae, as it is not common to have a JCR publication prior to finishing one’s Master’s Degree, which ensures that they can stand out from the rest of the students. On the other hand, this recognition is highly valuable to provide the guarantee of being able to continue to develop themselves in the field of research since, for example, when applying for scholarships (including, among others, doctorates), having a published article is one of the variables contemplated.
