The European SmartEnCity project will hold its Final Conference in Vitoria-Gasteiz on June 14 and 15
The project closes its six-year trajectory whose objective has been to develop the European strategy for the creation of CO2-free smart cities.
After six years of work, the European consortium in which Mondragon Unibertsitatea participates want to share the experiences and results with the community and will do so in Vitoria-Gasteiz. The project has been a pilot test that has contributed to the Coronación neighborhood of Vitoria-Gasteiz being closer to the zero emissions concept thanks to the involvement of all the agents involved in the project. The June meeting will help other towns and cities to learn about the steps to be taken to move towards an emission-free city and to learn from the experience of the Basque capital.
The interventions carried out in Vitoria-Gasteiz have focused on improving the insulation of buildings, installing a heating network in the neighborhood and the implementation of a sustainable mobility model, among others. The contribution of Mondragon Unibertsitatea in this project has focused on the monitoring of the data, as the university has created the platform that collects and visualizes the energy consumption of the houses.
