The writer from Iurreta will give three talks in Eskoriatza as part of the Literature Set to Music (Literatura musikatua, in the original Basque) conference. The talks will take place between February 24 and 28 as part of the Literature Convention.
The writer Joseba Sarrionandia will preside over the Literature Set to Music conference in the Faculty of Humanities and Education Sciences of Mondragon University. The talks will be held on the Eskoriatza campus, from February 24 to 28, as part of the Literary Meetings. All fourth-year Education students will participate in two-hour meetings during this practical conference.
The writer from Iurreta and winner of the Euskadi Prize will analyze some ancient and modern songs that have become part of the Basque musical tradition, some of which, furthermore, were written by Sarrionandia himself. Topics for discussion will include, among other things, how the lyrics of these songs came about and how a literary text becomes a song in general. In addition, the students will have the opportunity to delve into the topics addressed in the songs.
