Presentation of the Report on Dual University Training in Spain

Mondragon Unibertsitatea together with the Bertelsmann Foundation and the Conference of Social Councils of Spanish Universities have presented the first report on Dual University Training in Spain.

This morning, the Report on Dual University Education in Spain was presented in Madrid, which has been prepared by th Bertelsmann Foundation together with the Conference of Social Councils of Spanish Universities and Mondragon Unibertsitatea. 

The presentation of the report was attended by, among others, Antonio Abril, present of the Conference of Social Councils of Spanish Universities, Vicent Climent Ferrando, head of projects at the Bertelsmann Foundation and cooodinadinator of the study, Vicente Atxa, rector of Mondragon Unibertsitatea and Jon Altuna, academic vice-rector of Mondragon Unibertsitatea.

The report highlights, among other issues, that dual university studies are offered in a total of 11 Autonomous Communities, including the Basque Country, Andalusia and Catalonia, with Mondragon Unibertsitatea consolidating its position as the university with the highest number of dual degrees and an employment rate of its students of 91%. 

That 85% of universities show great interest in Dual University Training, where 37% already have dual degrees while 48% are in the process of developing them. 

The greates dualisation is in engineering, where 64% of studies are already dual. 

The authors of the resport also point out that greater coodination between universities, companies and governments, together with more fexible regulation and economic incetives, among other mesures, would help th boost this educational modality.
