Rich Baker offered a presentation to the first-year students of the Industrial Master’s Degree, in the core subject “Design, Calculation and Verification of Machines”. During his visit to the Higher Polytechnic School, Baker presented a paper on the failures in the elements of the machines, such as gears, cams and tooth gear couplings, a subject in which the PhD has extensive experience.
A prestigious researcher
Rich Baker did his doctoral thesis on the subject of wear by fretting wear in the tribology section of the Department of Mechanical Engineering at Imperial College London. After a long professional career, he has been dedicated since June to his own company Tribotonic, which distributes and supports PCS and Falex Tribology equipment across Europe. Dr Baker has given technical papers all over the world, both in small and large conferences, and last year, he won the award for best guest speaker at the Technical University of Munich (TUM).
