Welcoming ceremony for the international students in the Master’s degree program in cooperativism
The event, held today on the Eskoriatza campus, was attended by the Dean of the Faculty of Humanities and Education Sciences, Nagore Ipiña, and the Coordinator of the Master’s Degree program in Cooperativism and Socio-Business Management, Leire Uriarte. The students’ stay will last until April 1st.
At the event held today, March 21, on the Eskoriatza campus, Nagore Ipiña, Dean of the Faculty of Humanities and Education Sciences, and Leire Uriarte, Coordinator of the Master’s degree, welcomed the international students in the Master’s Degree program in Cooperativism and Socio-Business Management. The program of activities for these students from El Salvador, Italy, Catalonia, Colombia and Mauritania was summarized in the presentation.
In addition to welcoming the students, the Dean of the Faculty introduced the Faculty of Humanities and Education Sciences, as well as its structure and the cooperative practices that are carried out.
The international Master’s degree in cooperativism is offered online, but students have the opportunity to learn about Basque cooperativism first hand as a complement to their training. Their stay was designed for this purpose and, as Uriarte explained to the students, in the Basque Country they will have the opportunity to become familiar with the following ventures: Otalora, Mondragon’s center of directive and cooperative development, the Association of Friends of Arizmendiarrieta, Soraluce, Lagun Aro, the Ulma Group, the Mundukide Foundation, Arizmendi Ikastola, Emun, Goiena, Fagor Automation, and the Debagoiena 2030 and KoopFabrika projects. An innovative venture like the Eraman bicycle delivery cooperative in Vitoria-Gasteiz. And in Bilbao, various initiatives such as Mondragon University’s Bilbao Berrikuntza Faktoria (BBF) and the AS Fabrik campus.
In addition to these visits to cooperatives and institutions, students will take advantage of their stay in the Basque Country to deepen their knowledge of their academic field. Thus, on the Eskoriatza campus of the Faculty of Humanities and Education Sciences, they will participate in various training sessions and carry out tutorials on their respective End-of-Degree Projects.
