Since the Industrial Revolution, development due to the growth that the world has experienced has been based on fossil fuels accumulated over 2,000 years. This development has caused a major impact on the environment, generating scarcity of resources. For this reason, some of the main challenges of this century are the efficient use of resources and development of renewable energy sources.
With this starting point, the Energy Engineering course is offered in Orona Ideo (Hernani).
This campus is a giant energy laboratory and is located in an innovative ecosystem, in which university (Mondragon University), company (Orona) and research (Ikerlan) are integrated.
Energy Engineering is responsible for the different phases of the energy cycle: from generation (traditional and renewable) to consumption.
For this purpose, through research, the energy engineer will design systems, products and new processes, seeking energy efficiency at all times and promoting the use of renewable energies.
