With this festival, Mondragon Unibertsitatea, TeamLabs and the Consistory have highlighted the positive impact generated with the different activities they have organized in their first year in the city
Mondragon Unibertsitatea and TeamLabs, its radical learning laboratory, have celebrated this Thursday, together with the City Council of Malaga, the Young Entrepreneur Talent Festival in FYCMA, in which more than 200 young people, as well as companies and agents of the entrepreneurial ecosystem have participated. Among others, Rosa Sánchez, Councilor for City Promotion and Investment Attraction of the Malaga City Council; Lander Beloki, Dean of the Faculty of Business of Mondragon Unibertsitatea; and Ibai Martínez, co-founder and general manager of TeamLabs, attended the event.
At the event, in addition to highlighting the positive impact generated in Malaga by Mondragon Unibertsitatea and TeamLabs during the first year in this city, the results of "Acelera", the first pre-university accelerator in Malaga, were presented. The objective of this initiative has been to offer a practical entrepreneurial alternative to students from Malaga in the 4th year of ESO, 1st and 2nd year of Bachiller and FP.
In this first edition of "Acelera" have participated a total of 7 schools in the city and province: Colegio Sierra Blanca, MIT School, IES Playamar, Novaschool, Sallliver, Maristas and Torrequebrada. Among all the participants have managed to create more than 40 projects. Of all these, the winner was the Maristas school for its project "Week of recycling and garbage collection at home".
In addition to the results of "Acelera", the attendees were able to learn about 12 of the projects with the greatest impact generated within the framework of the LEINN Degree. Among them, Hemper, Avantis, Escape the City, Ropa Futboleros, Yeet, FlyOut, Youz Talent, Seven Weeks, Inngenim Labs, Mazinn, Kokonat Bowls, Gloop.
Within the framework of the agreement signed with the City Council of Malaga, the first course of the Official Degree in Entrepreneurial Leadership and Innovation (LEINN) of Mondragon Unibertsitatea officially began in September. It is a unique degree in the world that has implemented one of the most innovative methodologies, where you learn by creating from day one real companies in teams while traveling the world.
With the arrival in Malaga of the LEINN degree, which has a 97% employability rate, the attraction of talent from other places has been boosted, making Malaga an attractive place to study and undertake. Currently, 40% of the people enrolled in the LEINN Degree are from Malaga city and the remaining 60% are from other Andalusian provinces, from other parts of the country (such as the Canary Islands and Galicia) and from other parts of the world (such as Ecuador).
The next LEINN Degree Open Days to be held in Malaga will be on Saturday, February 18, at 10.30 am at the TeamLabs Malaga laboratory, located at Calle Beatas, number 34.
A year promoting entrepreneurship and innovation in Malaga
In addition to the start of the first course of the LEINN Degree in Malaga, over the last year and thanks to this agreement, different activities have been launched with which Mondragon Unibertsitatea and TeamLabs have managed to reach more than 3,100 young people from Malaga.
Specifically, these activities have been "Awaken", to awaken the entrepreneurial vocation of high school students; "Dare", which consisted of three activities in which different profiles worked collaboratively to identify opportunities related to the strategic challenges of the city of Malaga; "Hackea", where young people have lived an intensive and immersive experience in digital skills in which they incorporated accessible technology to improve the value proposition of their projects; and finally, "Acelera", the first pre-university accelerator in Malaga.
