Three of the six finalists of the prestigious international GSEA (Global Students Entrepreneurs Award) belong to the LEINN (Entrepreneurial Leadership and Innovation) Degree. The final will be held on February 23rd in Madrid.

The Global Students Entrepreneurs Awards are the world's largest competition for university entrepreneurs organized by Entrepreneur's Organization (EO), an international entrepreneurship organization with more than 12,000 members worldwide. After the national final, the European final (in Istanbul) and the international final (in Cape Town) will be held.

Otto Desmons

From the Barcelona laboratory of Mondragon Unibertsitatea and TeamLabs will compete in the final Otto Desmons, who is in his fourth year of the LEINN degree, with the Flyout project, and Pau Pavón, in his third year, with Examfy.

Pau Pavon

Flyout is a brand of sports equipment specialized in AirTracks, a term used to describe the inflatable tracks used by athletes who practice acrobatics in different disciplines such as martial arts or gymnastics. Its objective is to become the reference company in the sector in Spain and to continue growing, offering a first class product for demanding sportsmen and women.

Examfy, on the other hand, is a tool for teachers that allows them, thanks to optical character recognition and artificial intelligence, to speed up two of the most monotonous, repetitive and cumbersome tasks in the correction process: on the one hand, the recording and uploading of grades, and, on the other, the preservation of exams. Once you scan each exam with your cell phone, Examfy analyzes and sorts them by name and grade, and allows you to publish notes or share them with students or their parents. Examfy has already won different awards such as the European Wise 20 Under 20 for the best education startup in 2022.

From the Madrid lab, Nicolás Cañizares, in his fourth year of the LEINN degree, has reached the final with his project Papyro. Papyro's goal is to transform Blockchain into a technology that brings trust to people and real value to their lives. To do this, they turn whitepapers (essential document for investors) into the central tool of Blockchain projects. Thus, they can develop the project code (Smart Contracts), design the economy of their digital token (Tokenomics), have an integrated Launchpad to invest in the project, and manage their community through its Marketplace, among others.

LEINN Degree, the first official degree dedicated to entrepreneurship at European level

Mondragon Unibertsitatea is a benchmark in the area of entrepreneurship. One of its hallmarks in entrepreneurial education is the Official Degree in Entrepreneurial Leadership and Innovation (LEINN), which is the first official European degree in entrepreneurship. It uses a methodology originating in Finland, in which students must create a real company as a team from day one, combined with trips to different countries. With a 97% employability rate, it trains them to acquire a learning mentality that prepares them to face uncertainty successfully, naturally and without fear.

Currently, after more than 14 years since the LEINN Degree began, Mondragon Unibertsitatea has an international community of more than 3,000 entrepreneurs (of which more than a third are women), with more than 120 team companies created in LEINN and laboratories in Irun, Oñati, Bilbao, Madrid, Barcelona, Valencia, Malaga, Berlin (Germany), Puebla (Mexico), Seoul (South Korea) and Shanghai (China).
