Representatives from Mondragon University participate in the World Cooperative Congress in Seoul

Representatives from the LANKI Institute of Cooperative Studies and the Faculty of Business Studies participated in the international conference, which took place on December 1-3.

Researchers from Mondragon University participated in the World Cooperative Congress held in Seoul, South Korea. A large group of Basque representatives also participated in this 33rd Congress, which was held on December 1-3.

Two groups from Mondragon University participated in the World Cooperative Congress: on the one hand, and in person, José Mari Luzarraga and Aitor Lizartza, from the Mondragon Team Academy (MTA) and the Faculty of Business Studies and, on the other hand, Ainara Udaondo, Director of the LANKI Institute of Coo-perative Research, and Leire Uriarte, Coordinator of the Master’s Degree program in Cooperative Enterprise and Social Business Management, who participated through a video presentation carried out by Ainara Udaondo. In addition, two alumnae of the degree program in Entrepreneurial Leadership and Innovation (Leinn), Ana Agirre and Lucía Cuesta, also participated in the conference.

In addition to people from the academic world, a large number of Basque representatives participated in the congress in Seoul, including Vice President of the Basque Government and Minister of Labor and Employment Idoia Mendia, Deputy Minister of Labor and Social Security Elena Pérez Barredo, Director of Institutional Relations of the MONDRAGON Corporation Iñigo Albizuri, president of the MONDRAGON Congress Javier Goienetxea, president of CSCE-EKGK Patxi Olabarria, and president of KONFEKOOP Rosa Lavín.

The aim of this 33rd World Cooperative Congress was to explore the cooperative identity to build a safer future. Taking the current global crisis as a framework, the debates aimed to intensify the cooperative identity by examining its values, strengthening its actions, committing to its principles and enjoying its achievements.
