The students of the Master’s degree in Biomedical Technologies have received a session on the activity of the new company located in Miramón
The students of the Master’s degree in Biomedical Technologies of Mondragon Unibertsitatea have attended a special session where representatives of Cyber Surgery explained the activity that they develop in their head office in Miramón.
This spin-off session dedicated to surgical robots noted that this is an area with high development expectations in the coming years. Dr Jorge Presa, a telecommunications engineer and General Director of Cyber Surgery, stressed that robots are a crucial tool of operating rooms, as they increase the accuracy of medical equipment and patient safety whilst significantly reducing times and costs involved in operations.
The presentation is part of the strategy of Mondragon Unibertsitatea to bring the business reality to the classroom. In this case, Cyber Surgery also collaborates with the Master’s degree in Biomedical Technologies by providing a module of the subject Planning and Surgical Training during the first semester of the Master’s degree. In this module, Cyber Surgery experts teach students on how to generate 3D biomedical models by applying segmentation techniques to biomedical images.
