Hackathon: Entrepreneurship and Silver Economy
24 hours where students, professionals and senior citizens will work together to find the best innovative solutions in the field of population ageing.
The Bizkaia Hackathon on entrepreneurship and the silver economy will take place from 9 June to 10 June. The meeting organised by Nagusi Intelligence Center (NIC), 42 Urduliz, Mondragon Unibertsitatea and Bizkaia Talent will take place on the 11th floor of Torre Urduliz (Urduliz) from 15:00 on Friday until 18:00 on Saturday.
Two leading companies in the Basque Country (Kaiku and Sener) will present their own challenges so that multidisciplinary groups made up of students, professionals, entrepreneurs and people from the silver collective can look for solutions in a collaborative way.
Challenges related to:
- Food and Wellbeing
- Inclusive Mobility and Technology
Representatives from Kaiku and Sener will present their challenges on Friday afternoon and the teams will be able to start devising possible alternatives and solutions. Throughout the event, experts in entrepreneurship, professionals and users of the silver collective will be mentoring the teams so that they can align their proposal as closely as possible to the needs of the organisation.
In addition, all participants will receive training pills, in which tools for the creative process of solving challenges will be provided. The training will aim to stimulate creativity and the necessary guidelines to be an efficient working team. In another training pill, the format, timing and criteria for the presentation of each group in pitch format will be explained. In addition, the proposed economy, the turnover of the sector in the Basque Country and the possibilities for professional development within the field of the silver economy will be conceptualised.
The NIC and the Bizkaia Silver Economy Programme, which partially finances a university master's degree specialising in silver economy, will be presented. Open innovation and creative problem solving will be stimulated through a playful approach and the soft skills of the participants will be strengthened in order to achieve the creative resolution of business challenges.
The organisation of the Entrepreneurship and Silver Economy hackathon will provide catering throughout the duration of the event as well as the necessary material to develop teamwork including stationery, computers, etc.
The Hackathon will end with the award ceremony. In total, depending on the evaluation of the Evaluation Committee, up to €4,000 in prizes will be awarded. Consult the rules published at www.bizkaiatalent.eus which establish, among other things, the configuration of the Evaluation Committee, the evaluation process and the evaluation system.
