The Faculty of Humanities and Education Sciences of Mondragon University has awarded the prizes of the GipuzkoHarrok competition, which promotes the employability of the workers of the future. The competition is carried out with the help of the Provincial Council of Gipuzkoa and the sponsorship of Laboral Kutxa. It aims to design and develop a program to strengthen the employability of future employees, and to evaluate and develop the GipuzkoHarrok competition. A total of 53 works were submitted.

Project to enhance the employability of the workers of the future

The main objective of the project is to strengthen the role and employability of the lifelong learning system in Gipuzkoa. The project is based on the idea that employability education begins before entering the labor market and includes lifelong learning, with the need to develop key and cross-curricular skills and to understand the context of the transitions we are experiencing.

The Employing project offers a workshop and escape room in educational centers to work on the employability of future workers. Not only do these initiatives help the workers of the immediate future to work on key competencies (flexibility, commitment, learning, active citizenship and guidance), but they will also help them to understand that the transitions we are experiencing represent a different scenario for Gipuzkoa.

The ‘GipuzkoHarrok’ competition

The project, led by researchers from the Faculty of Humanities and Education Sciences, is practical in nature, rather than simply theoretical or design-based. For this reason, students from different schools in Gipuzkoa participated in the workshop and in the escape room, in addition to participating in the “GipuzkoHarrok” competition. The participants in the GipuzkoHarrok project program included approximately 2,000 students from a total of 13 schools, three higher education centers and three university campuses.
