Students have been able to visit companies that value the importance of the design process and this has allowed them to see real applications of what they study in the classroom and identify where they want to direct their professional careers.
The students of the first year of the Master's Degree in Strategic Design at Mondragon Unibertsitatea have enjoyed a 3-day Learning Journey in the capital of Madrid. The trip is part of the academic programme of the master's degree and allows students to visit leading companies where they can carry out their final master's degree project. It is a master's degree that is totally oriented towards the needs of companies, proof of which are the agreements it has with companies such as Movistar+ or Garaje de Ideas or the full employment that its graduates maintain (100% employability according to the latest Lanbide study).
The Master's teaching team maintains a close relationship with companies such as Movistar+ and Garaje de Ideas and collaborates with them to propose real challenges in the classroom, organise events and workshops, as well as to develop final Master's projects. During the visit to Madrid, the Master's students were able to visit the facilities of both companies, learn about the most important challenges they are facing, find out first-hand what they are looking for in the young people they bring into their organisations, etc. According to Ion Iriarte, coordinator of the master's degree, "having a 2-day immersion in companies that value the importance of the design process allows students to see examples of real applications of what they study in the classroom, and helps them to visualise their future working on similar projects. It is a very enriching experience and we hope that we can continue to do so in the coming years. Soon several students of the master's degree will move to Madrid to develop their final projects there, we hope they enjoy it and get the most out of it for their learning.
The Master's Degree in Strategic Design of Products and Services
This master's degree trains young talent for the design of products and services focused on users. It is a master's degree with strong links to business reality, as the companies with which it collaborates pose practical challenges of varying complexity and duration that students must develop. The challenges are usually associated with the three transitions: technological-digital, energy-climatic and social. It is a master's degree with a dual PROGRAMME that includes internships and a paid final master's degree project (grant of around €700 per month).
