Beyond its personal and professional appeal, the field of the cultural and creative industries has become a powerful economic sector in recent years. For example, according to data from the Basque Observatory of Culture, the culture and creativity sector makes a significant contribution to the Gross Domestic Product, accounting for 4%, for example, in 2019 (Basque Observatory of Culture, 2019). The Cultural and Creative Industries are also an important driving force in job creation: it is estimated that there were 33,983 workers in the sector in 2022, accounting for 3.84% of the workforce (Basque Government, 2022).
