Student body of the Faculty of Engineering participates in Surfboards Innovation Camp contest
The contest that was held in Donostia aims to promote the development and marketing of the surfing industry.
The students of the Higher Polytechnic School participated in the Surfboards Innovation Camp contest held in Donostia, presenting a total of 18 projects, including 9 prepared by the students of the Arrasate campus and 9 prepared by the students of the Orona Ideo campus.
Participation in the contest by the students was carried out within the framework of the subject of Strategy, Research and Technological Innovation of the Master’s Degree in Industrial Engineering of Mondragon Unibertsitatea. The students’ proposals range, among other aspects, from the change in the design of the surfboards to proposals for an improvement in their performance or their development from the standpoint of ecological awareness.
The purpose of the contest is to promote the surfing industry, promoting its development and marketing in order to design higher-quality products and processes. After a few days of evaluation, the jury will select the three best projects, which will receive a prize of €1,000. In addition, a representative of the winning team will be invited to participate in one of the trips organised by the Donostia Surf City Cluster of the organisation Fomento San Sebastián.
