This conference aims to show the results of the VIVID Incubator, one of the most relevant lines of the VIVID rural innovation laboratory, a model with which we help rural municipalities to attract qualified young talent. We are developing this project in collaboration with Mondragon Team Academy, one of the leading entities in youth team entrepreneurship and today there are already more universities that join this opportunity as the University of Navarra, UPNA, University of Zaragoza and UPV.

To select the young participants, a contest has been prepared for candidates coming from the LEINN degree to prepare a proposal that responds to the following challenge: 'Imagine you are a town of 500 inhabitants. What initiatives would you implement to attract and maintain young talent to your town?

The presentations of the proposals by the young participants took place today, Friday, November 17, from 11h to 13h at the Enpresagintza Campus of Oñati (Ibarra Zelaia Zelaigunea, 2, 20560 Oñati, Gipuzkoa).

Two round tables with different purposes were held at the event: one with several professors from Mondragon Unibertsitatea, the University of Navarra and the University of Valladolid, in which the aim was to show how training centers can lead, together with other agents, the transformation and revitalization of territories. In this case, becoming a strategic resource for rural development.

In the second round table, two experiences that have taken place in 2022 with students who have lived for months in the village to identify the causes of depopulation and provide solutions have been narrated. Students from different universities have developed projects that have had an impact on the territory in the form of end-of-degree projects, internships or other formats.

The first experience (framed in the format of final degree project), has consisted in designing the concept of a service model for entrepreneurship support, focused on young people in rural areas and based on the previous experience of the project Espacio Alpha, monitoring of the training program Academia VIVID where the monitoring and support to entrepreneurship is being conceptualized.

The second experience that has been presented at the table has been developed within the framework of repopulating tourism. To this end, one of the students described how they carried out a process of immersion in the territory, interacting with the locals and facing the challenges they had to face.

In the second part of the event, a contest was held in which five teams of young students of the university degree Leadership, Entrepreneurship and Innovation of the University of Mondragon, have offered solutions to the challenge proposed to them, leaving one of them as the winner.

Finally, a networking space has been shared among attendees, students from other degrees or courses eager to learn about the possibilities that can offer the rural environment and specifically the VIVID Incubator.
