International Co-operative Entrepreneurship Championship, Mondragon City Challenge
Young people from all over the world will be able to form a team of 2 to 4 people and participate and launch their cooperative projects.
Today, Friday 27 September, the third edition of the International Cooperative Entrepreneurship Championship, Mondragon City Challenge, was presented at Kulturate.
This is an initiative aimed at students from high school, vocational training and university where, within a period of 7 months, they must develop their own cooperative project in teams.
Mondragon Unibertsitatea is one of the organising bodies of this initiative, together with Arrasate City Council, the Basque Government, the Higher Council of Cooperatives of the Basque Country, the Confederation of Cooperatives of the Basque Country, the MONDRAGON Corporation and the Provincial Council of Gipuzkoa.
The registration period for teams is open until 25 October and can be completed on the Mondragon City Challenge website.
There are two categories in the championship:
- Category between 16 and 18 years old
- Category between 19 and 24 years old
The theme of the projects will revolve around one of these challenges:
- Technological-Digital: digitalisation, cybersecurity, etc....
- Health-Social: health systems, etc....
- Energy-Climate: sustainable and smart mobility, etc....
There is a prize for each of the categories consisting of:
- Category 16-18 years: A trip to Paris.
- Category 19-24 years old: A trip to Canada
In addition, among all the non-finalist projects, the most innovative will be selected to receive the ‘Prize for originality’ of 800 euros in cash.
