The Biziberritu project promotes the use of surplus company materials as an educational tool in schools, at a time when education is granting more and more importance to experimentation, creativity and play when it comes to promoting student learning processes. The materials used to carry out these experiments can be diverse.

The Biziberritu project focuses on the fact that recyclable material can be very interesting for the development of students’ knowledge of the physical world. Thus, the more indefinite or unstructured the material, the more possibilities it offers to have more varied experiences and reach richer conclusions. The use of recycled materials also offers many possibilities for creation and deactivates competition among students, which has a positive impact on their self-image and self-esteem since the artifacts they create cannot be judged or valued according to a single model. In addition, unstructured materials multiply the possibilities for play and play itself is the fundamental tool for symbolic development.

The Biziberritu project has carried out a pilot experience that we want to share during the conference on June 20. In the session, the experiences of the centers that participated in the project will be shared and there will be time to reflect on experimentation and the benefits it has meant for children in Early Childhood Education and Primary Education.
