The Polytechnic School of Mondragon Unibertsitatea participates in this European project that aims to create a community of agents that adopt new AI, data and robotics technologies to apply them to the machine tool production sector.

The EARASHI (Embodied AI/Robotics Applications for a safe, human-oriented ) research project, funded by the European Commission, announces its first open call for industry-focused SMEs and start-ups to adopt innovative technologies.

This call is the opportunity for SMEs and start-ups in the manufacturing sector to boost their advanced, digital and eco-responsible technologies. The selected proposals will receive financial support to improve their technological level (data, AI, robotics), as well as support to improve working conditions from a people-centred approach (safety, health and well-being), which will facilitate the optimisation of the organisation's productivity.

The selected projects will have to respond to one of the 10 EARASHI challenges:

  • Mobile robotic assistance for repetitive tasks
  • Heavy-duty robotic assistance
  • Machines/tools for the recycling of goods, electronics and batteries
  • Digitisation process of tools and production machines for Industry 5.0
  • Worker stress monitoring and assistance to limit work-related stress
  • Collaboration between AI and humans to solve complex problems
  • Human-centred robotic assistance for assembly work
  • Automation for the optimisation of intra-factory logistics
  • Improved digital planning to optimise task execution for production workers
  • Gamification of tasks through the use of digital technologies

The call will grant funding of up to 200,000 euros to micro-consortia of 1 or 2 entities. The selected projects will have to run for 15 and 18 months. The call is open until 12 May 2023.
