Mondragon Unibertsitatea's engineering courses are characterised by being very closely aligned with industrial reality. The university's proximity to companies is evident, and it is therefore common for company representatives to come to the classrooms to present the latest developments in their sector.

The profile of the design engineer who joins the industrial sector must know the different manufacturing technologies in order to be able to design products correctly, select the right material and guarantee quality after the manufacturing process. For this reason, the teaching team of the degree proposed to Juan Etxeberria, Promotion Director of Fagor Arrasate, to come to the 2nd year classroom of the Degree in Industrial Design and Product Development Engineering and to explore in depth the new concepts of presses designed and manufactured by the Basque cooperative.

Fagor Arrasate has a wide range of industrial products ranging from mechanical presses for the automotive sector, hydraulic presses for hot stamping, automatic lines for the manufacture of household appliance parts, cutting lines and laser lines for the iron and steel industry and a long etcetera. Etxeberria focused his presentation on the characteristics of the different presses and their selection for the final application in which they will be used. He also went into the achievable production rates, the flexibility of each solution and the importance of automation and digitalisation in order to obtain a high OEE.

Eskerrik asko Juan for your collaboration, I'm sure the students have learned a lot about industrial presses!
